Railway Museum
Within the castle’s grounds was the Penrhyn Castle Railway Museum, which housed a collection of narrow-gauge locomotives. However, in 2024, the museum closed, and the space is being redeveloped into a new exhibition titled “Industrial Penrhyn.”
Cultural Significance
Penrhyn Castle has been used for cultural endeavors, including the filming of the Welsh National Opera and various television series. The castle also hosts community events such as parkrun.

Getting There from Bangor Train Station
Penrhyn Castle is about two miles east of Bangor Train Station. Visitors can take a taxi, local bus, or enjoy a scenic 40-minute walk. Cycling is also a great option, with bike racks available on-site.
